SupaVac Is Not a Replacement for Every Mine Dewatering Pump
This distinction is extremely important.
If a mine needs continuous high-volume pumping of relatively low-solids water, a conventional dewatering pump may be the correct equipment.
SupaVac should not be presented as a universal substitute.
Its strongest value appears when the material becomes:
- heavily solids-laden;
- settled;
- thick;

For Mozambique, this can make the SV110 worth evaluating for mobile sump, pond and slurry cleanup.
SV250 Mining System for Heavier Duties
SupaVac also offers an SV250-V mining configuration whose official applications include:
- thickener desludging;
- sump and shaft de-mucking;
- tailings and ash pond cleaning;
- raw-effluent pond desludging;
- hazardous-waste recovery;
- transfer of mining slurries.
The unit uses a 100 mm suction and discharge arrangement and can handle solids up to 75 mm according to published manufacturer data.
Its air consumption varies significantly according to configuration, reinforcing the need to check compressor capacity before selecting the pump.
SV510 for High-Solids Material
For larger solids-transfer requirements, the SV510 officially lists:
- slurry transfer;
- thickener desludging;
- mud and tailings transfer;
- pit and sump cleaning;

Actual coal-slurry performance may be considerably different from the SG1.0 rating.
The material must be evaluated.
Abrasion and Material Compatibility
Coal fines and mineral solids can be abrasive.
The pump itself is therefore only one part of the system.
